Indian Granite Producer Of Exotics + Essentials
Yak Black Granite is a fine-grained, consistent black granite with an even spread of white-grey quartz crystals. This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite however in the area of application of the European Standard we are awaiting clarification. During the polishing process a clear epoxy resin filler may be used to fill any micro fissures or tiny pitting however this does not affect the integrity of the stone, it merely provides an even smoother surface finish. Yak Black Granite is suitable for both interior and exterior use futhermore is frost resistant and with a constant polish.
Suitable for construction projects both commercial and domestic, prefabricated countertops/worktops, vanities, tiles, backsplashes, paving, fireplaces and memorials.
Yak Black Granite looks best with a gloss polished surface but is also available as honed, leather/satin, river-washed/antique, thermal/flamed, flamed & brushed, water-jet, bush-hammered, sandblast and sawn finish.
Test with a small sample. It is possible that a sealant can be used on Yak Black Granite however excessive attempts at sealing it could actually create a residue film build-up.
Yak Black granite is from our own sheet bedrock quarry near Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, India. The veining and colour varies little and a small sample of Yak Black granite should be representative of the whole slab.
Yak Black granite slabs are available in standard 20mm and 30mm thickness for random slabs, cut-to-size (dimensioned) slabs and prefabricated countertops to the customer's specifications, 40mm thick slabs are produced but are not usually held in stock for immediate despatch.

Granite is a common and widely occurring type of intrusive, felsic, igneous rock. Granites are usually medium to coarse grained, occasionally with some individual crystals larger than the groundmass forming a rock known as porphyry. Granites can be pink to dark grey or even black, depending on their chemistry and mineralogy.
This is a medium-sized granite quarry yielding several, selectable, grades of granite with blocks suitable for gangsaw size down to economical tile-sized and monument blocks. Extraction commenced in the late 1980s. For commercial projects it is important to ensure that blocks are selected from the same quarry face.
Rough blocks are usually exported by Break Bulk however intermodal containerisation is available at extra cost. Finished products are packed into sea-worthy wooden crates and loaded into containers.
