Synonyms: Creme Perla, Dolcetto Perlato, Pearl Beige, Perlato d'Italia, Perlato di Sicilia, Perlatto Sicilia
A beige limestone of the Eocene period (other authorities say Cretaceous) with brown stylolitic veins. This stone internationally may be nominated as a marble. For the US and Chinese market this is correct but in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as limestone. Sicily's most important construction stone with about 200 quarries of nearly 50 companies.
